How To Commission A Portrait

Whether you decide on a traditional bust portrait (head & shoulders) or an imagined scene with your pet(s), send me an e-mail with your reference photo(s) and let me know what you have in mind. I will be delighted to create an original, personality-filled piece of a memory that you can cherish for years to come.

Step 1 - Reference Photo(s)

Dreaming up ideas is just as much fun as bringing them to life, and clear photo references help to ensure that the finished product is as real as possible.

Step 2 - Medium & Size

Step 3 - Fifty Percent Deposit

To secure your order, a 50% payment is required before commencement by E-transfer (within Canada) or Square Invoice (outside Canada).

Step 4 - Portrait Preview

As soon as the portrait is completed, I will send you a preview via email. Depending on the season and the volume of orders, it would take at least 2 to 4 weeks to complete a portrait.

Step 5 - Final Payment

Once you approve the preview, the remainder of the payment plus shipping, in some cases, can be made by E-transfer (within Canada) or Square Invoice (outside Canada). I also accept cash for local pick-ups and deliveries.

Step 6 - Pick-up | Delivery | Shipment

Local: If you live around the Mississauga, Milton, or Oakville area, I would be happy to meet you somewhere in between and deliver the portrait in person.
Distant: For shipments I use Canada Post.
If you would like a project estimate or if you have any questions at all, feel free to email me: christineloboart@gmail.com.

Quality Assurance

Picture
Quality is very important to me. I believe in providing high-quality original artwork created with the best materials. For drawings, I use Staedtler Mars Lumograph Pencils and/or Prismacolor Premier Coloured Pencils on Strathmore Bristol Vellum 300 paper, and for paintings, I use professional-quality acrylic paints on double-primed canvases and/or archival-quality paper. Every piece of artwork is also sprayed with a fixative or varnish, respectively, for preservation.
