Artist's Bio
Christine Lobo is a pet portrait artist based in Mississauga, Canada. She has been drawing ever since she could hold a pencil. Her early sketches were of cartoons that she used to watch daily. Equipped with a pencil and a sheet of paper, she would retreat to a quiet corner and unleash all the ideas swirling in her head.
Christine developed an interest in animal portraiture being surrounded by animal lovers and their pets. Fascinated by animal expressions and their interaction with each other, she loves to capture those emotions and special moments on paper and on canvas.

Specializing in realistic pencil, coloured pencil, and acrylic animal portraits, her work is soft, delicate, and lively. Christine studied Italian, French, and Art History at the University of Toronto in Mississauga (UTM) and is currently pursuing her dream of creating heartwarming portraits while sharing her creative process via social media to encourage all budding artists to pursue their passion.

Artist's StatementCreating art is a form of elaborate storytelling when words fail me. Anything that awakens my imagination, be it smells, sounds, pictures, colours, feelings, or memories, inspires me to pick up a pencil and sketch it out. My intent with every piece is to accurately and realistically depict subjects with the hope of opening a window and allowing you to get a glimpse into my imagination.
